Many factors can contribute to sleep difficulties, particularly for children with developmental differences. Medical conditions, medications, sensory needs, sleep schedules and routines, diet, and other individual factors may all play a role. Together, we’ll take a closer look at your child’s sleep and daily routines to better understand what may be getting in the way and where support may be most helpful.

Behavioral sleep support focuses on understanding what may be getting in the way of healthy sleep and building new habits and skills that support more restful nights. Together, we look at your child’s sleep patterns, schedule, bedtime routine, sleep environment, and what happens when they fall asleep or wake during the night. From there, we create an individualized, step-by-step plan that considers your child’s needs and your family’s priorities.

Yes. Because sleep difficulties can sometimes be related to underlying medical concerns, I ask families to connect with their child’s healthcare provider before beginning a behavioral sleep plan. This helps ensure that relevant medical factors have been considered or appropriately addressed before we focus on the behavioral, environmental, and routine-based factors that may be affecting sleep.
I begin with an in-depth interview to understand your child’s sleep patterns and what may be getting in the way. From there, we’ll work together to create a practical, step-by-step plan that fits your child and your family’s goals.
A plan designed around your child.
1
Understand
We’ll start with an in-depth conversation about your child’s current sleep, routines, environment, and your goals as a family.
2
Discover
We’ll choose one meaningful area to focus on first and create a practical, individualized plan that considers your child’s needs and fits your family’s everyday life.
3
Start with what matters most
Together, we’ll track sleep for a short period of time to better understand where your child currently is with sleep and identify patterns that may be interfering with restful sleep.
4
Monitor and adjust
We’ll follow your child’s progress, meet to troubleshoot and make adjustments as needed, and build from each success over time.
