Communication, Flexibility & Cooperation.
Helping children express what they want and don’t want, navigate “not right now” and unexpected changes, and build confidence participating in things they may not always choose.

Increased flexibility is built gradually. We begin by identifying the routines where greater flexibility would make everyday life easier. From there, we introduce small, manageable changes while providing plenty of opportunities for success. As confidence grows, we gradually build toward greater flexibility with changes.
Small changes → success → return to the familiar → gradually build

Yes! This work is designed to help children build communication, self-advocacy, coping, and flexibility skills that can take the place of more intense responses when situations feel difficult.
We move gradually and thoughtfully, introducing challenges in small, manageable steps with the goal of keeping your child happy, relaxed, and engaged throughout the learning process. If your child becomes significantly distressed or intense behavior occurs, we don’t simply push through. Instead, we use that as valuable information that we may have moved too quickly, adjust our approach, and find a more gradual path forward.
The goal is to help your child feel successful while building skills that make difficult moments easier to navigate.

Coping is learning how to move forward when things don’t go as hoped. We help children build skills for navigating disappointment, waiting, hearing “not right now,” accepting alternatives, and finding something else to do—all while gradually building their ability to stay regulated through these everyday moments.
